Product Description
Gerwin adds a breath of fresh air to the bistro world – a new interpretation of a classic chair. The x-back adds a special touch, the visible screws create the popular “shabby chic”. In addition to the walnut and black finish, the chair is optionally available with artificial leather seat cushions in coffee brown and black. Bentwood is bent solid wood. The process of bending wood without it breaking was developed around 1830: the master carpenter Michael Thonet succeeded in using steam to give wood a stable bent shape - steam causes the lignin, which is responsible for the strength of wood, to soften and the piece of wood can be bent. The process is still called the Thonet process after its inventor. Beech wood in particular is very easy to bend into a beautiful shape due to its comparatively short wood fibers.Product Code
